// JOIN THE BREAKERS

Evaluations,

Not Tryouts

Gulf Breeze Futbol Academy player evaluations are the first step toward joining the Breakers, and they work differently than you might expect. We're not here to cut players. We're here to find the right fit for every one of them. Evaluations are open to committed players from Gulf Breeze, Pensacola, Navarre, and Santa Rosa County.

A coach or instructor, dressed in black and white sportswear, is speaking to them. Soccer balls are lined up on the grass, and a shelter is visible in the background amidst trees.

// OUR APPROACH

A Two-Way Process

Most clubs hold tryouts. You show up, perform, get cut or get kept. Gulf Breeze Futbol Academy doesn't do that.

Our evaluations are integrated into a normal Breakers practice session. That means your player isn't performing in front of strangers on a sterile field, they're experiencing exactly how we train, how our coaches communicate, and what the standard looks like every day. They get a real sense of whether this is the right place for them. And so do you.

Coaches evaluate players for development level, team fit, and age-appropriate placement. Effort, resilience, and the drive to improve matter as much as current skill. But families are evaluating us, too. Come meet the staff, ask your questions, and decide whether GBFA is the right soccer home for your player. That's the deal.

// AT AN EVALUATION

Real Training. Real Coaches. Real Answers.

When you arrive at an evaluation, your player joins an age-appropriate session already in progress. There are no separate evaluation drills, no artificial pressure, and no audience of parents deciding fates from a clipboard. Just a real Breakers training session, the same structured, development-first environment your player would experience as a member of the club.

Coaches observe technical ability, decision-making, competitive effort, and coachability. All four matter. Your current skill level is not the only factor, and it is not a disqualifier.

After evaluations, the coaching staff will communicate placement recommendations and program options. If you have questions about where your player fits or which program makes the most sense, the coaches are available to walk you through it. No pressure, no politics. Just honest answers. The goal is to build confident, hardworking players in an environment that challenges, supports, and inspires, and that process starts at the evaluation.

// WHY GULF BREEZE FUTBOL ACADEMY

Why Gulf Breeze Families Choose the Breakers

// 01

Development-First Mindset

Every program at GBFA is built around Total Player Development: technically skilled, tactically aware, mentally tough, and character-first. That's the standard from Juniors through 11v11, and it doesn't waver based on age group or level.

// 02

A True Family Atmosphere

The Breakers are a community. The sideline culture is respectful, positive, and focused on the players, not the scoreboard. Families who join GBFA join something bigger than a roster.

// 03

Training-Only Options Available

Not every player is ready for a full travel commitment, and that's fine. GBFA offers training-only options for committed players who want club-level development without the weekend travel schedule. Come to an evaluation and we'll help you figure out which path makes the most sense.

// 04

We Develop EVERYONE and Compete with ANYONE

The Breakers go anywhere, play anyone, and expect to compete. That starts with building every player, not just the top few.
